We're using this amplifier with an equalizer and two 500 watt speakers. The neighbors to the South have moved out, and the 6 hunting dogs to the North are learning how to bay all night long. Be certain that you need this much power before buying this item, or at least consider hearing aids for your husband. You will also need a helper who can lift and hold 43 pounds when installing item. Unable to answer basic and fundamental questions reagrding setting up this 2 Channel amp to run my 4 speakers. In any event the amp is able to push both pairs with clarity and without distortion.
