I had an older drive fail to recover after a restore attempt and had a few files that I wanted to recover that hadn't been backed up yet. This enclosure was cheap so I thought I'd give it a shot. It worked out great, it was a real life saver. I'm definitely going to keep this around, it's a good tool to have just in case. I would note that it's not the greatest build quality - there was a clump of glue on one side of the circuit board that I had to remove for the drive to fit.. I got this hard drive enclosure to use for cloning my laptop hard drive which took a couple of tries before it worked but I am sure that was due to the software I used (or maybe the operator) instead of this enclosure. It looks well made, comes with a readable manual and installation was very easy. Everything fits and it goes together very well. I did have to use the additional USB power connector before the drive would work. I am very pleased with it so far. ...more
