I can now easily transfer my home movies (Hi8) and old VHS tapes to digital form for DVD archiving. It came with good software and an adapter to make it easy to plug my camcorder in and use. I would recommend buying a ADVC 1394 bay for easy connections. The software do not run well under Windows XP with service pack 1 installed due to a bug in service pack 1. Typical of Microsoft. You will need to download a patch from Canopus website. Customer supports are average.
